Position: Undergraduate Research Assistant August 2019 - December 2019 I was an undergraduate TA for STAT 190, sometimes in STAT 290. STAT 190 was a course that discussed about some computational tools used in big data analysis. The course covered the R environment, visualizing data, UNIX, bash, regular expressions, SQL, XML and scraping data from the internet. The students who were taking STAT 190 were a part of the Data Mine community where they were introduced to data science concepts in order to solve real - world problems. Often, they were very new to data analysis, and it was one of my responsibilities to encourage and help students debug their codes. If a student asked a conceptual question, it was important to communicate the complex ideas in the clearest way as possible. I also had office hours when students could come for help. Position: Undergraduate Research Assistant August 2018 - August 2019 During my freshman year, I got accepted to the Statistics Living-Learning Community (STAT-LLC). Through this project, students would be involved with a new project-based course in big data analysis, new mentored research collaborations and thrusts, and a new seminar series. So, I'd work with a mentor and conduct some research for Purdue during my sophomore year while pursuing my education in engineering. Through the opportunity, I'd be paid for the full 12 months, and would be involved in the required courses in data analysis, probability theory, and statistical theory, and I would live with other 19 students in the Hillenbrand Hall in 2018-19, I would also take some professional development seminars too.
